RADIX SENIORS ARCHIVE 2006
Cookery
Echos of the Orient found their way to Faida as the Senior Club members took part in a practical lesson on Chinese cookery and... 101 ways of making rice! The sumptuous results of the activity were enjoyed at lunch thereafter.
Faida-German Project
The senior girls of the club and some visiting German girls built a store in a City Council school - Kihumbuini Primary - in the neighbouring Kangemi slum. This was in order to free the school library(previously used as a grain store)for study.
It was a rewarding yet taxing experience that elicited the following comments from some of the girls who took part:
"This work is helping us grow in perseverance," said Evelyne
"It's very manual, but its fun...." said Angela.
Social Work at St. Martin's School, Kibagare
The senior club members had a social work seminar from 30th November to 9th December. We helped in the kitchen and in giving the place a thorough scrub. Perks of the seminar were the Novena to The Immaculate Conception organised at the Kianda School Chapel, a guided tour of Nairobi University and its environs as well as a motivational session by Peak Performance facilitated by Mrs. Muchau a management consultant. A movie came as an EXTRA treat.
Study,Book Party and Readathon
As exams draw near, we buckle down to intense hours of study at the readathon and book parties.
