RADIX RADIUS ARCHIVE 2007Orientation Session :: Social Work :: Study Marathon :: Camps :: Birthday Celebrations :: Graduation Dinner DRUM ROLL PLEASE…HERE IS FAIDA! (20th January)The new members in Radix Radius (class 7 & 8) had an orientation session in Faida. It included the aims of the club and the activities for the year. The highlight of the day was a touching and impressive documentary on Mother Teresa of Calcutta. All in all, a promising introduction. GIVING…GIVING…GIVING…IT’S NEVER TOO MUCH!The girls seeing life through the eyes of others were greatly moved. Their visit with three families in Kibagare slum, touched a chord in their hearts that made them want to repeat the visit. STUDY MARATHONThe best of the marathons held in 2007 was dubbed "the Lenten campaign". The marathon was well attended with the girls doing three hours of intense study for three consecutive weekends the hours totaling 9. The motivation for study was to offer each hour of study for their family and for the Pope. It was well timed and very productive with exams just around the corner. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONSWhat a piece of work is a man! ... The beauty of the world! The paragon of animals!" so says Shakespeare, in Hamlet. Each month there is a smashing party to celebrate the birthdays of the month. We have great fun and a chance to bond. Camps that are a never to be forgotten experience. Held on 17th November from 2.00pm to 9.00pm. To get an insight of how it went, Milka Muchori 14years old shares her views: "It was a tranquil Saturday evening. I looked forward to the long awaited time. First, there were games that were simply marvelous. They helped me relax and added an unbounded joy which ignited every strength installed in me. Everyone who attended will agree with me ...the games were for sure REVITALISING!!! "I know you are very excited to graduate to the Seniors,"She (Ms Khamati) really knew how to liven my mood. After 8 long years!!! Her short speech was quite educative and above all goal oriented!!! Friendship is not measured on how tall a tree is but by how deep the roots are. That was the lesson learnt from the captivating movie ...Over the Hedge! The animated movie was based on Friendship and how to be there for one another. Finally, we had the scrumptious meal that left us craving for more and licking our fingers. After dancing to the beats, we thanked the catering department for time they spent serving us at that late hour of the evening. The day was a great success."
