The Famine In Kenya.

While others eat and drink, others are suffering and dying. The famine in Kenya is a National Disaster. The lakes, rivers and other sources of water are almost dried up. Some victims of the famine are drinking dirty water which is not good for their health.
The health of our people is deteriorating. They do not have enough access to medical treatment. Their crops are dead and they have nothing to eat.
It is up to us Kenyans who have not been struck by famine to save our fellow Kenyans who are dying. Do not depend only on the government but we should also take it into our hands. Let us offer water, food and clothes through hospitals, churches and other places. Children are dying but with your help, they could become a better part of tomorrow.

Here is a poem by Kui a Senior Club member written in 2008.

As We Develop

When we learn

We learn we can

Be that we want to be

And all we need is a little

Effort here and there and

You will see that what

Defines my effort, is me working for me

When we grow

We grow old

And learn enough

For others to call us wise

For with an increase in size

Comes an increase in insight

And in the end we switch on the light

When we think

We think to drink

All the information we can

To help us know

And so we grow in thought

And mind bringing so much

Knowledge we call it a lot

So we think to learn

And learn to grow and

All these things we need to know

To help us develop and reach

The powerful place we seek!
